Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Eyelash Logic, Lumigan and Latisse?

Latisse is the trade name in the USA for Lumigan (for cosmetic use). The ingredients are identical, both products containing Bimatoprost 0.03% and made by the same manufacturer (Allergan Inc).

Eyelash Logic is a consultation and prescription service providing an eyelash treatment pack including Lumigan and precision micro-applicators.

So should I just buy Latisse?

Latisse is not officially distributed in the UK. In our product testing we also found the applicator brushes packaged with Latisse to be less accurate due to the large brush size.

How does it work?

Bimatoprost is a synthetic prostaglandin analogue, which acts on prostaglandin receptors in the hair follicle and root. It increases the percentage of eyelash follicles in the growth phase at any one time, causing them to grow longer. It also stimulates melanin-producing cells, causing lashes to appear darker, and increases the size of the root, resulting in thicker hair.

How long do the effects last?

The effects will last as long as the treatment is applied as instructed. If discontinued, eyelashes will gradually return to their original condition after a few months.

Why should I order Eyelash Logic instead of over-the-counter eyelash serums?

Numerous over-the-counter eyelash preparations are available, with various active ingredients described such as natural extracts, vitamins and ‘propietary peptides’. However, none of these have been clinically proven to be effective. Bimatoprost 0.03% is the only clinically proven treatment for eyelash growth.

Can I use Eyelash Logic with contact lenses?

Contact lenses should be removed before treatment and should only be reinserted after fifteen minutes.

When is the best time to use Eyelash Logic?

We recommend using the treatment each night just before bedtime, after any make-up or contact lenses are removed and the face is cleansed.

How much is shipping?

We offer free delivery on all UK and European orders.
The flat rate for shipping to all other destinations is £7.

Who shouldn’t use Eyelash Logic?

Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding and children under the age of 16 should not use Eyelash Logic. Although there are no documented safety risks, it has not yet been proven to be safe in these groups and so for your safety we would not approve your order in such cases. Any patients who are using or previously used prescription medication for an eye condition should contact their doctor prior to ordering.

Are there any other possible side effects?

We want you to be aware of other potential side effects, however rare they may be. Less common side effects include eye irritation or dryness, redness of the eyelids and darkening of the eyelid skin, which is likely to be reversible. Rarely, topical Bimatoprost may cause increased pigmentation of the colored part of the eye, which, although likely to be permanent, was not found in clinical trials. If the treatment is applied to areas other than the base of the eyelash, it can potentially promote hair growth in those areas (some patients use it to grow their eyebrows!).

Bimatoprost has been used safely for glaucoma since 2001. With topical eyelash use, the eye itself is less exposed to the treatment, and so any side effects are potentially less likely. Careful application of the treatment using our precision micro-applicator brushes can help minimize any possible unwanted effects.

Why do I need a prescription?

Lumigan (Bimatoprost 0.03%) is a prescription-only medication, which should only be used with the approval of a qualified doctor. Certain websites may offer it without prescription, but the quality of the product, suitability of the patient or safety profile cannot be guaranteed.
